CommunityLend for Lenders

CommunityLend offers investors an opportunity, that is unique in Canada to lend to people using peer-to-peer lending. Examples of borrowers include those looking to pay off a high interest credit card, people looking to pay for a wedding, or people trying to get an exciting new business idea started.

To get started:

  1. You need to sign up and to certify yourself as an Accredited Investor. Click here to see the definition of an Accredited Investor.
  2. To register you need to enter personal information to allow us to verify your personal identity and validate your bank account. You will also be asked to complete an investor suitability questionaire.
  3. To confirm your registration you will need to transfer a minimum of $100 to your Lender Account. These funds are yours and will be available to bid on Loans.
  4. Once registered you may browse the Loans in the CommunityLend Online Lending System and bid on the Loan Requests that best suit your lending criteria.
  5. If your Bid wins, CommunityLend will complete its due diligence, complete the Loan Agreement on your behalf, and automate the payment process.

CommunityLend for Lenders is completely free to register, to create an account and to Bid on Loan Requests. CommunityLend only charges fees to Lenders for administering their Loans, any collection activity that proves necessary, and for account withdrawals of less than $25. Lenders are required to deposit a minimum of $100 to participate in ComunityLend, but this remains the Lenders money, which is free to be invested.
